Read an article on fb this morning from Irelandxo  re misspellings etc of Irish surnames and one of the options was to contact a specialist in the Irish language

 

Whom do  you suggest?  I live in Australia

    I was re reading my post re Irish Language person and your reply in 20210

        As mentioned I live in Victoria Australia   

    Can you help with any referral to a society / person/group  who could possibly help me understand my Irish surname spelling/pronounciation  

    Dna trees that I and other cousin share have families back in the early 1800s with surnames -   GAUGHAN  and   GAHAGAN

     

    I have still not found a marriage / birth / or immigration record
