Joanna Howard b. 17 Apr. 1837  married James Cunningham

Martin Howard b. 17 Oct. 1840 d. 5 Apr. 1885

Catherine Howard b.21 Aug. 1842  married Daniel Herr   26 May 1862

William Whalen Howard b. 18 Dec. 1844

Mary Howard b. 26 Feb. 1826

John Howard b. 27 July 1830

Jeremiah Howard 12 Feb. 1832

Daniel Howard b. 23 Sept. 1838

All of the children were born in Ireland.

The Howard family immigrated to Sandusky, Ohio in 1850.

I am seeking a connection to the Howard & Whalen families in Ireland and elsewhere.

  • I am descended from Ellen Howard of Manister/Croom/Fedamore in Limerick.  She was born about 1812.  She lived in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, USA.  She was married twice: to Michael Murphy (children Mary and Michael) and John Dugan (children Catherine, Ellen, Thomas, Daniel, James).  She died in Binghamton, New York in 1888.  Ellen was the sister of Mary Howard who marrried Bartholmew Cussen in Fedamore in 1821.  Mary lived in Indiana and Ohio after emigrating. and married John Dugan sometime after her arrival in the US.  Mary and Ellen had a brother, TImothy, who lived in Vermont.
