Hello

I'm hoping someone can help me find a Birth Certificate for my paternal grandfather, Michael Gillen. b 1870.  So far I have tried on a number of government sites with no success.  It's been suggested his birth may not have been registered because of the cost.

His parents were Michael and Rose Gillen  and he was one of seven children,  James, then Michael, Hugh, Francis, Charles, Alice and Catherine.

I believe they were born in Drumnkilly Mid Tyrone, and on the 1911 Census, he is listed as a Farmer's son.

I will grateful for any help and advice you can offer as it's in support of my application to become an Irish citizen.

     Are you sure Michael was born in 1870. I found and Michael Gillan and Rose Morris living in Carnanransy, Gortin, Tyrone on RootsIreland (paid subscription) with the following children- John 1884, Christopher 1885. Michael 1888, Rose 1890, Hugh 1892, Francis 1893, Charles 1895, Alice 1898, and Catherine 1901. Some might have died?

    Michael (father- John) and Rose (father- Christopher) were married in 1875, perhaps they had more children?
