Hi Does anyone have any knowledge of Industrial Schools around the 1930s.
i am interested in any of these schools in Meath or Westmeath. Thanks
On a list of Industrial Schools in the Republic of Ireland given at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_school_(Ireland), there is only one in Westmeath--St. Joseph's in Summerhill, Athlone. I did not see any in Meath, though there was one in Dublin whose title included the word "Meath."
There is a very good novel dealing with the Industrial Schools by Laois-born author Tom Phelan. It's called "Nailer."
