Hello,

I have the children's names and birth dates of James & Bridget Hickey's children.  They were all baptized in St. Munchin's Church, Rockhill/Bruree and James & Bridget were married in that church also.  I would like to find out any information about their lives.  Their marriages, birth of their children, deaths, immigration etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Alma Stafford

Ellen -  birth:  Jan 24 1828

James -  birth:  Nov 15 1829

John -  my gr grandfather  birth:  January 1831 ( I have information when he arrived in the US, but none before that)

Patrick -  birth:  March 23, 1834

I did not find a lot of info on your family.

The subscription site Roots Ireland has an October 16 1858 marriage for a John Webb and Ellen Hickey in the Rockhill/Bruree RC church records. Possibly this is the Ellen Hickey in your message. I did not see any marriages in Rockhill/Bruree for a James Hickey or a Patrick Hickey.

The 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing showed a James Hickey in Harding Grove townland in Bruree civil parish. Possibly this is your James Hickey.

Civil registration of deaths started in 1864 and your Hickey family would be within the Kilmallock registration district. I did search the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie but did not see any good leads for deaths for James or Bridget Hickey.

  • Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me find out where my Gr. Grandfather John Hickey born February 1, 1832 in Limerick,  when he left for the United States and what ship he was on.  I can not find anything here.  He has such a common name, there are so many John Hickey's.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

There is very little information available regarding ships leaving Ireland in the mid-19th century.
