Hello All,

Firstly I am wondering if I am in the right County, information from ships log has Catherine from Boyle Roscommon. Whereas before opening the document it shows original location as Beltenbat County Cavan with another log showing original location asTemplefort, County Cavan Ireland.
Seeking any information on Catherine Crofton  b: 1833 Boyle Roscommon . Parents Thomas and Mary {both deceased}. Religion Church Of England.  Arrived in Australia onboard the Digby 4th April 1849 as one ship of the Earl Grey Scheme.  Catherine went on too live a long life marrying twice with seven children, 6 of those surviving to adulthood.

If I am in the wrong County I apologize, would you please direct me where to look.

You can contact me via iansonts@gmail.com if you are able to assist.

Thanks for your time
Cheers
Ian

  • Ian,

Please see a record of a Morgan Crofton, Esq in Boyle 1833. He may be a relative of Catherine Crofton.

No record for a "Crofton" in County Cavan found in the Tithe Applotments Record -1823 -1837. Where the initials ESQ are after an individual name, it normally means a person of importance in the locality.
