Bridget Quirk (md. in America Patrick Quinn of Co. Limerick) and her brother Michael Quirk (md. Anna Lyons of Golden, IRE) left Ireland ca1849.  They settled first in Albany, New York, and later moved to Champaign County, Ohio and then to Champaign County, Illinois.

Michael Quinn's line did not survive beyond 2 grandchildren.  Bridget's line survived through to this day.

While researching Albany, NY, I found a John Quirk (b. 1814, Golden, Co. Tipperary, IRE) and his family.  His wife's name was Bridget Sullivan (1817 Lismore, Co. Waterford).  Their children were Michael (1847), William (1849), Mary (1851), Catherine (1853), Elizabeth (1855), and John (1858).  I believe John is a close relation to my Quirk ancestors.
