Dear Jackie
I have a Catherine Carroll and John Connolly as ancestors who were married sometime around 1848. Wonder if they are from the same families.
Also relatives called Cooney and Shiel

Hi Jackie
I can empathise with forgetting the password!! Its a common feature of my life.
Re: Carroll and Connolly - our Catherine Carroll married John Connolly - they had a number of children - Patrick, Bridget, Mary. Thomas, Catherine, Martin, Francis,William. Later generations lived at Cornamuckla, Fuerty and Kilinsolla. The family moved about in the Galway and Roscommon areas. Does any of this mean anything to you? or your sister.

Enid, the family home that I have always known is Fairfield Aughrim - I think the townland is Carrowmore? The names you mention I am not familiar with.

Hi Jackie, I am Philomena Talbot the daughter of Mary Carroll (99) who was born in Aughrim 1918, My grandfather's name was Frank and I know he had two brothers one Luke and Matt Carroll. My grandfather and grandmother lived in Aughrim when they got married and then moved Ballinalsoe. Do you think there is a connection here? Hope to hear from you, Philomena.

Hi Philomena, how are you, thanks for posting. That sounds very promising doesnt it! I will pass onto my sister who has most of the research. The names Luke and Matt seem to be handed down. My dad was Matt (RIP) and his brother was Luke (RIP) who eventuall settled in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. We must be related! Where are you living? You can email me at jaycarroll10@gmail.com.vKind regards,Jackie
