My 5x great-grandparents James Farmer m. Elizabeth Smyth had 2 children that I am aware of - Nicholas Farmer b.1788 (later of Killallon) and Honor Farmer b.1780 (m. James Battersby).  I also find a James Farmer m. Elizabeth Smyth in the Irish Catholic Parishes Records listed as parents and having children baptized James Farmer b.1823 Oldcastle and Matthew Farmer 1829 Harbertstown (Baptism:  24 Oct 1829 • Harberstown, Meath, Ireland-- Math., parents James Farmer and Eliz Smyth, Harberstown. Sps. Thos Murphy & Honor Farmer).  If this was my 5x great-grandparents James Farmer m. Elizabeth Smyth, Elizabeth would be in her 60s.  It's highly doubtful these are their children.  I also have a Charles Farmer (Baptism 4 Jun 1841 • Harbertstown, Clonmellon Parish, Meath, Ireland - "4 - Chas. Pts. Jas. Farmer & Eliza. Smyth, Sps. Jas. Connell & Bridget Fitzsimons - Harbertstown").  Using an approximate birth year of 1758 for my Elizabeth Smyth, my 5x great-grandmother would be about 81 years old at this time, if she were still living.  I put this in my Ancestry tree anyhow, making it a priority to update it but it's a horrible mess.  Any help understanding this is appreciated.  All baptism information from Irish Catholic Parish Register documents.

Also, Honor Farmer, daughter of James & Elizabeth Smyth Farmer, necessitated a 3rd degree dispensation from the Catholic church, according to parish records:  "31 July 1801, Married James Battersby and Honor Farmer, Witnesses Nicholas Farmer and Peter Fitzsimmons, Newtown, Killalon. Dispensed in the 3rd degree by Doctor Plunkett (?)"  This means they were were 2nd cousins, sharing great-grandparents, and needed permission from the church to marry.  I'm assuming this information could be helpful to me for my family tree. Thanks & cheers.
