Hello.
This year, a wonderful person working on this site identified my great grandfather, James Gallagher s/o James and Catherine, as having been baptised on 18 Oct 1857 in Saint Johnstown, Co Donegal. James's sponsors (aka informants/godparents) were Alex Gallagher & Grace Donnell. His parents were married in St Johnstown on 24 September 1855. They had another son, Daniel, who was baptised on 11 May 1862 and his sponsors were Thomas Cannon & Catherine Donnell.
I am keen to hear from anyone who knows more about this family. James arrived in New Zealand in roughly 1882.
If anyone knows of his family in St Johnstown or anywhere - living or passed - I would love to hear from you. We don't know that much about him.
