Hello, I am researching James Kelly and Ann Kelly nee Young.... they had 5 children... 3 boys and 2 girls... I only know the name of one son... Patrick, my great grandfather....  I have not had any luck on Roots Irleand or Ancestry.com... but I did find reference to a James Kelly as a tenant in Richhill.... the reason this is a possibility in this region of Limerick is that his son Partick Kelly after emmigrating to Australia married a Annie McLoughlin from Newport Tipperary... some 10km's away?? ... my understanding from family folk lore is they knew each other before they married and she emmigrated to Australia some time after he did... 6 to 8 mnths...  "followed him out" is the term used in the family folk lore... I have also been in contact with the Limerick Genealogy Society and they did provide some great suggestions  but nothing conclusive....The question I am asking is ... are there any Kelly's with family history in the Stradbally area... particularly Richhill.. with knowledge of their ancestor who include a James and Ann Kelly?.... thank-you Regards, John Kelly

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

As you likely know the RC parish in the area is Castleconnell and baptismal records start in 1850 and marriages in 1863 which explains not finding any records.

I did look for Ann Young baptismal records and found this 1820 record in Newport. There was also an 1814 record in Newport.

You may want to add the story of James and Ann to our XO Chronicles site. Possibly someone will see the story and recognize the family. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

You may also want to consider autosomal DNA testing.
