Hi,

My great great great grand Father was James MacDonald born in County Sligo 1792. He was an earthenware dealer who married Mary Oliver in Shrewsbury, England on 11th February 1822. I'm not sure where he was born in the County or when he died.

I'd like to find out some more but have come to a halt at the moment.

    I will assume your James McDonald/McDonough was Roman Catholic. Unfortunately, no Co. Sligo RC parishes have records back to 1792 so we will not be able to find a potential lead for a baptismal record.

    You may want to consider DNA testing to identify matches with distant cousins who have McDonald/McDonough connections and possibly they would be able to shed some light on the origins of your family.
