Looking for ancestors and Ireland home of James McGann ca1826 - bef 1870.
James McGann immigrated to New York about 1850. He married Mary Carr in 1854.
They had daughter Annie 1855 and son Thomas 1858. Mary is listed as a widow in 1870 U. S. census.

Hi there,
have you tries the two websites www.rootsireland.ie and www.irishgenealogy.ie ? I found a few james mcgann in the timeframe. I then tried narrowing it down by putting thomas as a father's name? I found a baptism for
james mcgan 1826 Co. Roscommon and another 1824 in Co. Kildare. Maybe it'd worth taking a look at these records.
