I am tracing James Thomas McGill and Lavinia Dougherty of County Donegal, Ireland.
My research in the U.S. reveals James was born in County Donegal in 1770 and Lavinia also was born in County Donegal in 1785. They married in County Donegal around 1808. Sometime during 1808 and 1809 they emigrated to the U.S.A. James and Lavinia were living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a son, John, was born to the couple in November 1809 in Philadelphia.
They ultimately migrated to Nelson County, Kentucky. The 1850 U.S. Federal Census for Nelson County, Kentucky, USA lists James as 80 years old and Lavinia as 66 ears old.
Any information anyone is willing to share is appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Not sure of the religious denomination for James and Livinia but it is very difficult to find any church records in Co. Donegal prior to 1850. I did a quick check on the subscription site Roots Ireland but did not find a marirage record.
Can I suggest that you add their story to our XO Chronicles site on the Co. Donegal page and possibly someone will recognize a connection. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
You may want to consider DNA testing to identify distant cousins on your McGill and Dougherty lines (and your other family lines).
