Jane Lindsey is my 2 X Great Grandmother. She was born abt 1818 in the City of Dublin. I'm searching for information about her time in Ireland, especially her parents and possible siblings.
Jane came to America in abt 1837 and soon married Mathew O'Brien, another native of Dublin. They resided in Albany, New York. All of their children were born there. They are:
Thomas C (1839-1890);
Peter R (1841-1877);
Mary Jane (1845-1901);
Bridget V (1848-1905); My Great Grandmother
Mathew J (1848-1933);
James I (1852-1902);
The family moved to San Francisco in the late 1860s and remained there the rest of their lives. Jane passed away on 4 January 1869 in San Francisco.
There is an additional clue I've been playing with. In the 1850 census in Albany, a Mary Lindsey is living with the O'Brien family. She is a few years younger than Jane. Could this be her sister? I found a baptismal record for a Mary Ann Lindsey for 14 September 1823 at Dublin, St James, Dublin City. Here parents are Peter and Ann.
Any assistance would be most appreciated. Thanks for your kindness and caring.
With gratitude,
Jerry

Jerry,
In looking at records on Ancestry, I saw that in the 1860 census a boy called Charles Lindsey, 13, was living with the O'Brien family in NY.
Mary Ann Lindsey could be Jane's sister, sister-in-law, or cousin.
I hope this helps.
