I am reposting this information request, having done a "deep dive" into the birth dates. They vary widely in subsequent U.S. Census reports and death certificates, so I'm posting the ranges this research produced. I also learned that John's wife's maiden name was Stevenson.
I would appreciate help with my 3x great grandparents and their children (marriage date/location for John and Jane, birth dates/locations for their children including confirmation for James).
I believe the family lived in County Donegal and were Presbyterians.
John Turner (b. about 1782-1879)
Jane Stevenson ( b. about 1787-1891)
Eliza (b. about 1811-1819)
James (28 May 1818 but could be as late as 1821)
Margery (b. about 1821-1830, most likely 1821 or 1822)
Mattie (b. about 1823 ... almost no information about her)
Hugh (b. about 1824-1827 but most likely 1824)
Sarah (b. about 1827-1830)
Robert (b. Sept 1828-1831 but most likely 1829)
The entire family emigrated to NYC from Londonderry in May/June 1839 aboard the ship Oceanus.
Many thanks for any updated information you can find on them.

In the 1796 flax growers list, there was one Turner listed in Donegal:

The Ulster Historical Foundation recently completed some research on my behalf. While they were unable to provide definitive information because of a lack of documents before 1855, they were intrigued by the Turner and Stephenson families located in and around Leck, Listellian, Drumgreggan, Dromore, Rossbrachan, and Drumurdagh in the late 1800s, and highly suspect this may be my Turner/Stephenson family.
If anyone has any information, I would love to hear from you.
