I am seeking information on the above men who were brothers from Lorrha. I believe they emigrated to Australia in the 1860s possibly with a sister before moving to New Zealand where they became gold miners at Thames on the Coromandel Peninsula. John Hayes was born approximately 1837 and was possibly a policeman in Lorrha? He is my great great grandfather. He married Louisa Butler in Parnell, Auckland in 1878 with his brother Patrick as a witness. Their son William Butler Hayes died in 1996 three months short of his 108th birthday.
Any information on John Hayes would be most appreciated.

I have John Hayes born in Limerick in 1836 his brother patrick hayes married an Obrien and patrick became teh mayor of bendigo, i believe the hayes and Cosgrove families were in both OZ and NZ
