Hello Roscrea. I'm looking for my Gr. Grandfather John Bergin. I haven't documented his crossing yet but have found 2 strong possibilities:
John 1 - son of Patrick & Anne (Stapleton) Bergin. There is an age discrepancy for him & I may have found his marriage to Anne Kearey abt. Oct.20,1872. If that is correct he can be eliminated.
John 2 - son of Daniel & Ellen (Hulan?) Bergin. His baptism is 5 days after the d.o.b. I have but he is in Riverstown, not Clashaud.
Some who have helped me say John 1 is the right one but his possible marriage gives me doubt. Would like to be sure. Thanks for any guidance. Thomas

    We searched  Roots (paid) and Ancestry  . . . with your given info . 

    I have posted ( see below) some of what we found . . .  . . . which we hope will be of some help in your search .

    Roscrea . . the Town . . is situated in County Tipperary . . but . . on either side  . . by a mile distance are . . 

    the Counties of Offaly Co. (a.k.a Kings Co ) . . .  . and Laoise Co. ( a.k.a. Queens Co. ) 

    this makes for very diffacult searching . . . especially when it comes to outlying country districts . . . 

    you mentioned  . . . - Riverstown -    this is a village on the outskirts of the town of Birr  . . in Co.Offaly . . .
