There are no records on the subscription site Roots Ireland for the marriage of John and Julia or baptismal records for any of their children. I assume they emigrated from Ireland?

There are too many John Egan baptismal records around 1816 to know which one might be for your ancestor.

John Egan was born between 1836 to 1838.  It was not 1816.

I went back and there were over 80 John Egan baptismal records from 1836-1838 and seven Julia Kelly baptismal records in 1836. I also did not find a John Egan/Julia Kelly marriage record or a baptismal reocrd for a Jane Egan with father John and mother with maiden name Kelly.

Hi Alice, I have records of John Egan (1824-1916) in my family tree, he married Julia Ann Kelly in Rahan Ireland in 1860.  They emigrated to Australia in 1866. Because John was a very popular name at the time I am having difficulty in finding any evidence of birth, marriage and shipping records, so this information maybe questionable.  In this tree I also have their daughter Jane born in 1877 at Inverell NSW Australia.
