John and Mary were born appox 1850 in Timard or at least lived and married in Timard.  Looking for any birth records or marriage records.  There is still a home in Timard that is now owned by a decendant of theirs.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The RC parish records for Clonbern apparently don't start until 1892 which eliminates finding a baptismal record or church marriage record. The marriage likely occurred around 1875 based on the 1911 census data but there is no civil marriage record for this couple at www.irishgenealogy.ie  Is it possible they married outside of Ireland and came back to the area?

I assume you have the 1901 and 1911 census records and civil birth records for their children.

    John died 1931  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…

    Mary died in 1938  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu…

  • Roger,
Also at this time I don't have the birth records of their children. Their daughter Nora is my great grandmother.

www.irishgenealogy.ie has images of civil birth records from 1864-1916. Your family would be in the Glenamaddy registration district and from what I've seen, the records are recorded as Kilmartin. I located the record for Bridget which is below. You can search for the other children. Let me know if you need more assistance.

  • Thank you Roger. Could you piint me in the direction of finding death records? Would I find them in the same parish if that was where they passed as well?

  • Dear wildlphn:

Thank you for your query to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.  There is a parish office in Clonberne/Kilkerrin parish that you might contact via email for information.  Their email address is:

kilkerrinclonberneparish@gmail.com.  They may have burial registers or other information due to the lack of parish registers.  In addition, there is a local heritage society who has some active Ireland XO volunteers and I have written to them and copied this post.  You may hear from them.

If you need any further information, please let me know at:  jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

Civil death records are also available at www.irishgenealogy.ie. Use the Glenamady registration district. Records are available up to 1965.

  • Dear wildphn:

I have received a reply from a volunteer telling me that your best bet is to email the parish office as in my previous post to you on this thread.  The priest's name is Fr. Tommy Commins is very cooperative with queries, and my understanding is that the community is very organised with their local history.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at:  jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com

    Kind regards,

    Jane.
