Hi Patrica,
A search of subscription site www.findmypast.ie has 3 "john McBrien" who are Church of Ireland and baptised 1815 and 1816 with different fathers recorded. The surname appears to be quite common in Counties Fermanagh and Cavan. No John McBrien found for 1817.
The census record for 1821 has a John McBrien born 1818 in Belturbet area of Co. Cavan. Record Attached.
There is a record of the marriage of a John McBrien who is recorded as Roman Catholic to a Mary A McCartney in 1843 in New South Wales. It is a transcribed record, so it may not be accurate.
Regards,
McCoy
