Dear Ireland XO

I am looking for information regarding my ggg uncle John Mitchell born about 1798 in Cavan, Ireland.  He had a sister Mary born about 1804, my ggg grandmother.  John Mitchell married Jane Stanton who was born abt 1795, in Ireland. Probably about 1829.  Jane's brother was John Stanton born 1794 in Mayo, Ireland, he died in Perth Western Australia in 1877.

I would very much like to find more information on John Michell.  He came to Perth, Western Australia from Ireland with Jane around 1829 onboard the Sulphur and they had a son Joseph.  Around 1834, he went to India as part of the 63rd regiment and had a son, James 1834 and also had christened his son Robert Wiliam, his son Joseph died there in 1836.  He went back to England where a son also called Joseph was born 1838.  He and Jane returned to Perth, Western Australia in around 1840s from Ireland with their nieces Mary and Martha Mitchell.   John Mitchell was a bugler of the 63rd regiment.  John signed up for the army on 6 July 1818 at Cootehill and army recruiting centre in County Cavan.  He then joined the 63rd regiment on the 2nd of Sept 1818 at Albany Barracks on the Isle of Wight.  I would very much like to find out about John Mitchell's parents who would have been born probably in the 1770s in Ireland.  However, after extensive searches I have been unable to find anything.  Any information, no matter how small on John or his family would be wonderful.  You may know the Mitchell's I refer to or even the Stanton's.  Trying to put the pieces together with the help of Ireland XO.  Thank you so much.
