Hello. I grew up knowing my Grandfather, whennI was a child he was from Ballybrien Tipperary. He died in 1969. I can not find a birth certificate for him. That date was never added to his head stone either. On his Wedding certificate a name for his father was giver as Patrick O'Connor. Married in Nicker Pallasgreen. I have searched father Patrick and son John , its possible I have added him to the wrong family on Ancestry. There was no O'Connor witnesses on his Marriage certificate of Death Cert. I got copies from the Church in Ireland of my Dad and sibling Birth and Baptism certificate and not one person is O'Connor. My Grandfather was well educated could read and write, so educated. He was well know in Limerick and mainly Tipp as a teacher of Irish dancing and playing and teaching the fiddle. I have searched over and over. .
Now what?

Can you provide a copy of the marriage record for John O'Connoe or at least give us the date and who he married?

I wanted to see if John's exact age was shown on the marriage record but it only shows "full age" which means 21+. I also looked at the area around Oola in the 1901 census but did not find a John O'Connor. Unfortunately, the name is very common which complicates the search.

  • Thank you for trying Roger.

It has been my brickwall for years. I too have searched the census and it would give you a headache lol.

Back to the drawing board it is then.

    Kind regards
