Ok would anyone like to speculate on just what these entries from the Registry of Deeds really tells me. I understand the house is now a ruin.  So is it likely the first entry is  an exchange as a consequence of a marriage?  I am very keen to understand the connection between my family the Shorts and the Spunners.  What i do know is this John Short of Wingfield had a younger son who was called Charles Short of Birr, (and then Charles Shortt of Shinrone), and one of his sons was named Thomas Spunner Shortt.  So I've been speculating perhaps John Short of Wingfield's wife Frances was a Spunner?  The second part I am guessing is when John Shortt of Wingfield has died.  Short, Jonathan and another 218 467 144376 1762John Short of Wingfield, Co. Tipp and Jonathan son and heir apparent of said John on one part and  Thomas Spunner of Milltown, Kings Co - lands of Gurtagarry, otherwise Curraheen and Dromeene. 1/64 p. 21 No. 46 John Shortt of Wingfield Co. Tipp. Gent 15/5/67 - 22/12/1768Wife Frances, sons Jonathan (1), Thomas (2) John  (3) Dau Frances Youngest son Charles Grandsons Oliver and John Grace son's of son-in-law Robert Grace.  Dau.  Mary Sheppard ? Shortt, Mrs Eliz Grace mother of said son-in-law. Dau. Sarah Grace wife of said son in law.  I have received these entries second hand.  Is there any other way of tracing land ownership than looking at the registry of deeds?  Does anyone know if you can access this information other than at the library in Dublin? Perhaps I need a trip to Ireland to work all these connections out, but I don't want to be spending every minute in the library!  Any suggestions?
