Looking for any information re Joseph McDermott born ABT 18.15 who emigrated to Australia. Married Jean Stewart and had daughter Elizabeth Williamson McDermott. Hit a brick wall in research!

Only six of the thirty-one RC parishes in Co. Roscommon have baptismal records back to 1815. I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and the earliest Joseph McDermott baptismal record was June 1 1817 at the Castlerea RC parish father Patrick McDermott mother Mary Burke. You would need info on your Joseph's parents to confirm this record. Also, McDermott was a very common surname in Co. Roscommon.
You don't mention whether the marriage was in Roscommon but I did not find a record. Also, did not locate a baptismal record for Elizabeth.
Do you have any other info on Joseph and his family? Have you considered a DNA test?

I have done a DNA test through ancestry. Joseph was married in 1840 to Jean Stewart in Australia and Elizabeth was born there. I have her birth certificate but there is no relevant information on it unfortunately. I do not know anything about Joseph's parents or when he went to Australia etc just a big blank wall. I don't even know the Parish just guessing so that could be wrong too. It is a common name. A Few of them on shipping passenger lists but don't know which one it is. Sorry that's all I know probably not enough.
