Mary Clowry had one Child , named Timothy  with John Maher ( 1821 - 1877 ) in Myshall County Carlow

Timothy was born in Myshall in 1847.

John Maher above married again on 2 November 1858 to Catherine Kavanagh in Myshall County Carlow.

My search is for information on Kate Clowry. I have failed to find record of her birth , marriage or death. I am assuming she died after Timothy's Birth in 1847 and before John remarried in 1858.

Timothy went on to marry Mary Anne Hayden in Myshall on 25 September 1876.

Timothy died in Myshall in 1922. Mary Ann died in 1920 in Myshall.

  • Fear Cliste:

The subscription site Roots Ireland has an April 9 1822 baptismal record for a Catherine Clowry in the Tinryland RC church father Michael Clowry mother Margaret Byrne. I don't know if this reocrd is for your ancestor but it is a lead.

Civil registration of deaths started in 1864. None of the RC churches in Co. Carlow have pre-1864 death info.

  • Thanks Roger, I had found this record previously but did not pursue it. There are many Clowry families still in the Myshall area and I have found some headstones in the area relating to the family. There are Clowry's living beside the home of John Maher recorded in 1901 census. These are some of the reasons I did not investigate your findings at the time. However as you say it might be a lead. Although Myshall and Tinryland would be a good distance apart for that period something else has come to mind. While searching graveyards recently it was mentioned there was an old graveyard near Tinryland an some members of the Maher clan were buried there. I have reason to go to that region next week and will see what I can find.

With regard to the myshall region I have trawled through church records and failed to find a marriage between Kate and John. I will search records from Tinryland parish for such a marriage.

Thanks again for your help and prompt reply
