Hi all. My maternal Grandparents are shown as having a daughter Kate, Born 18th Novemebr 1914. I have the birth record. However. I cannot find any trace of her after that date. My grandparents were married on 5th July 1914 and so either they had to marry and the child taken away on birth or she died shortly after but there isn't a death record that I have found.
My mother, who was the next child was born in 1916. She never mentioned an older sister and in all my contacts with her siblings and grandfather Kate was never mentioned.
Any assistance in tracing her would be wonderfull.
She was born in Limerick and the family lived at 12 Arthurs Quay at the time.

I think it is likely that she died young but the family did not register the death.

Hello Ray, I have the birth details of as Kate Walsh in Limerick on the 18 Nov 1914 and I will give you the details as I cannot check whether it is correct or indeed if the child was fostered, adopted or died as I do not have any detail of your grandparents apart from a marriage date. Walsh is not an uncommon name around her I promise you so you do need to be very careful at what you add to your tree. If you need any further help, please let me know but first get the details thast I have given you, this may well resolve your query:-

You can get a copy of this certificate from:- https://www.nationalarchives.ie/article/records-birth-marriage-death/but it will give you both parents in detail and both the address and the occupation which can be helpfu; too.
