Kathy:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, the RC baptismal records for Cloonclare/Manorhamilton parish start in April 1841 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0823 so no baptismal records would exist in that parish for Garrett or Mary. I did check for Garrett across Leitrim with no success.
The 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Cloonclare civil parish does show Garret Keaney in Brockagh Upper townland as you indicated. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/leitrim/cloonclare.htm
As you know, Keany/Keaney was a very common surname in Cloonclare parish and there were still eight Keany/Keaney households in Brockagh Upper in the 1901 census.

Hi Kathy
Have a look at attached. I wonder if you have names mixed up.
A James Keany from Brockagh married a Mary Cullen also from Brockagh in 1875 - with a Garrett Keany listed as witness (most likely a brother of James).
Data source is Irish Genealogy website.
Hope this is of some help

Thank you for all the comments. I am pretty sure that my info is accurate, as I have a marriage record from Cloonclare with Geraldus Keany and Mary CUllen ( understanding that Geraldus was used for Garret and other names in Latin at the time from the 1850's I believe, an immigration doc for their family in 1884 from Boston, and Massachusetts marriage recods of three of their children listing them as parents. I know that it's tricky, as Keany and Cullen were very common names in Leitrim at the time. It's possible that the James and Garrett you referred to were not related, or that Geraldus was used for Jamesin the marriage record, not Garrett! Still, the immigration docs and marriage records of the children do imply that there was a couple with their names. Keany morphed into Kenney here in the States, so initalsearches were for Kenney- Cullen match, also unsuccessful. Appreciate the replies! Kathy
