Hi William
My grandmother was Margaret Keegan from Ballykeenahan. She was born in 1892. She married Thomas Buckley from Newtown Rahan or maybe at that time he lived in Ballincur Rahan (not sure) but now the Buckleys live in Newtown, Rahan.
Does any of this sound familar to you or match your dates

geraldine from my ancestory margaret keegan was a married woman 1892 living in derrooly so i was hoping her family were living in ballykeenahan
but you are saying that your grandmother margaret keegan was born 1892
which begs the question your grandmothers father was who
and where did he come from
do you have anything on his birth date
and his parents names and address
and do you know any of his siblings
and was one of them named margaret
or geraldine maybe i will approach it another way
your grandmother married a buckely when
and are her parents name and address given on the marraige certificate

Yes they are my Buckleys, Daniel Buckley was my GG Grandfather
Margaret Keegan's (granny) father was Pat Keegan and mother was Ann Birmingham. There is also some Brien or O'Brien connection.
In granny's family there was a May 1886, Patrick, 1887, Margaret 1889, Anne 1890, Anne 1890, Margaret 1892 (granny) and Terese 1898.
The fact there was two Margarets in the family would lead one to think the first Margaret died young and the named the second Margaret after her. (this was common enough)
How are you related to Buckleys in Newtown or are you. Do you mind me asking where you live, I live in Leitrim but go to Rahan every 3/4 weeks.
My email is carricktown@eircom.net

William sorry I did not answer all your questions.
I have only started searching past the Buckleys lately and was in Rahan in October and went to parish house and got some information on granny.
Keegans still live in Ballykeenahan so I am presuming Pat Keegan came from there.
Granny Margaret Keegan married Thomas Buckley and they had 4 children, I have no marrige cert yet.
As I am away from Offaly it is a bit difficult to get time to do research.
