Sorry for the lack of contact but nothing short of internet trouble.... Anyway here is something that came to me from the SHS
Greetings from a descendant of the Kellys and Ryans of Shallee. Francis, Margaret and Michael came to Australia in the late 1870s and settled in Glebe, Sydney and then a neighbouring suburb of Annandale. All were born in the 1850s to Patrick Kelly and Mary Ryan at Shallee. Frank married a Cassidy from Co Clare and Margaret married John Summers/Somers from near Farranfore Kerry. I am their great grandson and anyone with any information about or links with Shallee, I would love to hear from. I have already found your site greatly interesting. My wife and I visited about a month ago and you are blessed with a beautiful part of the world.

Hello.....I see you posted in 2013 so I'm not sure you will be reading this. My ancestors were Patrick Kennedy (b 1812) and Margaret Grace (b 1813) who married in Newport and lived in Shallee, near Silvermines. They had 5 sons, the youngest being my great grandfather, who was born in 1846 at the beginning of the famine. I believe they were tenants of the Crosdale Moloney estate and were evicted in about 1852, coming to America and settling in Vermont. They were closely related to many Ryans. They must have known your ancestors as Shallee was a small place. I had an opportunity to visit last year.
