My great-grandmother Anna Kennealy was baptised in Silvermines July 26 1852. Her parents were a Patrick Kennealy and a Bridget Flanagan. They lived in Cooleen.

Her brother James Kennealy was born in 1847.

Her sister Bridget Kennealy was born in 1855.

I found Patrick, the father, in Griffiths valuation.

I may have found her mother involved in a dispute with the landlord (Lord Dunnally) in the Nenagh Guardian but that’s unclear.

I don’t expect to learn more about her parents as the parish records start in 1840. But I’d love to learn more about her siblings. I haven’t found Patrick or Bridget in any records after their baptisms though. No marriages seemed good candidates for them. And it’s hard to know if anyone in 1901 might be them without know what happened in the intervening 5 decades.

Any thoughts on trying to track them down in late 19th century Ireland?

  • This may be another child of Patrick and Bridget, though Bridget’s name here is Flannery. Info is from rootsireland.

  • I agree that he's likely part of the family with the very similar mother's name. Thanks!
