I've now reached a full stop with research and wonder if anyone has any more info.My Great-great grandfather was Philip Lynskey( Griffith's Valuation) but I can't find any info. re his Birth or death. He had 3 sons and 3 daughters, The first son Patrick died a single man the second son James married Celia Meenaghan the third was my Great Grandfather Andrew born in 1847(approx) Philip's daughters married O'Donnell, Barret and Lavelle .Andrew married Catherine Togher (daughter of Martin Togher and Honour Deane I think!) ,they married in 1868. Catherine had a brother Michael (second wife Rose Togher) and 2 sisters one married a Macandrew.Andrew's son John,my grandad(1889) married Margaret Diamond whose mother was also a Togher. She was Margaret Togher daughter of Patrick Togher and Catherine Bourke. They married in 1920 and had 9 children my father is Martin now aged 87. 5 of the children are still living .The family moved to Gibbstown Meath in 1937. Any info/replies would be really appreciated.Anna Lynskey

Hi Anna,
I've had a look for the Lynskeys but haven't done too well!
The marriage of Catherine and Catherine is on rootsireland.ie but the his and the births of the other siblings don't seem to be.
There are a lot of Lynskys/ Lynskeys but none with father Phillip. I checked on Griffiths but couldn't see a Phillip there are 10 others though.
The only Phillip Lynsky birth is in 1871 Mayo which is too late of course.
Maybe if you purchase the rootsirelnd marriage record of Andrew's marriage (about $5 I think) it would give you his father's name and we could work back from there.
