I'm looking for any info or relatives of James Lee and Catherine Durnin Lee. I have the 1901 census record. They lived at 2 spring Garden Passage in Mountjoy Dublin. Is that address still there ? I can't find them in the 1911 census. I know they moved to salford Lancashire , England in 1918. They had a boatload of children, 16 to be exact. John, Catherine, Elizabeth, William, Margaret,James,Mary, Agnes, Eilleen, and Josephine. I can't find the others. My grandmom , Josie, was baptized at St. Mary's star by the sea in Sandymount. She used to tell of some crazy story, ni nan nail was how it was pronounced in English. Any help with that would be neat. Thank you !

Hi Eddie,
Thank you very much for your message.
I hope that someone with information on the family makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
In the meantime have you tried looking in church records for more information? You may be able to find some records online. Irish Genealogy have begun a project to upload church records to their website free of charge. So far only have a few places have been completed but Church of Ireland and Catholic records from Dublin city have been uploaded. Hopefully you will be able to find some records relevant to the family here:
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
Another useful website when it comes to Catholic records is the Irish TImes where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Dublin city parishes follow this link:
You could also try looking in civil records. Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so any births, deaths or marriages in the family after this date would be recorded in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office. Here is their website:

You can search the indexes to these records up to 1958 online at:

Some other websites that you may find useful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx

Spring garden passage was off Spring Garden Street and it was built over in the late 1960s/70s. It is now where Courtney Place flats are.
