Looking for the family of Annie Galvin. Her father and mother were Thomas and Charlotte Galvin.  Annie came to Boston from Ireland circa 1880 and listed in 1880 US Census as a servant, age 21.

  • Hello Andrea,

If you go to the irishfamilyhistoryfoundation website, it holds church records for most of Ireland.  It is free to join and to peruse and you only have to pay to view actual records.  It costs €5 for one record but you can bulk buy if you need.

I put in Anne Galvin 1859 and it ccme up with a few hits and I then put in her fathers name Thomas and it came up with one record in Co. westmeath.   I tried putting in Charlotte but it didn't recognize this at all.  This is not unusual. Many people were christened with the name of their grandparent but were actually called something entirely different in their day to day life.

I then went to the westmeath genealogy centre (just click on the map) and I scrolled down through all the parishes on the drop down bar.  I found one Anne Galvin born 1857 with father thomas galvin.

This could be her so it's up to you if you want to view her record.

Hope this is of some help to you,

    Regards,

    Anne K Dennehy
