Hired researcher from Waterford History Center and was provided the following information. But no information was found for the place of residence for the O'Donnell family nor the Fahey family. I can find no Griffith's Valuation for Clonmel for these families. I am very much interested in any information about where the O'Donnells and the Faheys lived.
Thomas O'Donnell was born to Patrick and Brigid Daniel. He was baptized 12 Nov. 1820 at St. Mary's Church, Clonmel by Father P. Gaffney. Sponsors were Matthew Butler and Brigid Foley. Thomas married Brigid Fahey 4 Fe. 1845 at SS Peter and Paul Church by Father John Power. Witnesses were John Burke and Brigid Fahy.
Thomas' siblings were:
Patrick baptized 2 Mar 1823 by Father P. Gaffney. Sponsors were William Fleming and Mary Cahel.
John baptized 12 May 1825 by Father P. Gaffney. Sponsors were Jeremiah Dee and Mary Daniel.
Mary baptized 12 Sept 1827 by Father J.B. Sponsors wereJohn Delany and Mary Murphy.
Brigid Fahey was daughter of Patrick and Mary Fahey. She was baptized 14 Aug. 1819 at St. Mary's, Clonmel by Father P. Gaffney. Sponsors were Michael Gready and Honor Quirk.
Her siblings were:
Thomas baptized 3 Jan. 1811 by Father M.D. Sponsors were Daniel Ryan and Catherine Fahy.
John baptized 31 Aug. 1813 by Father M. T. Sponsors were Thomas Mara and JoannaDonnel.
Mary baptized 14 Aug. 1817 by Father Tobin M. Sponsors were Michael Pendergast and Mary Fahy.

Hi . . . and Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out . . . .
Waterford Heritage Centre . . . would . . I imagine . . be the Rolls Royce of searching . . . but . . .
Using " Roots " search ( paid) . . . I started with a search for the WEDDING . . of Patrick O'Donnell and Brridget Fahey .. circa 1820 . . Clonmel .
result . . NIL . . .
_______________________________________________________________________-
https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1102 St.Mary's Clonmel
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632162#page/1/mode/1up Marriages recording stating 1797 . . . .
_________________________________________________
So then I looked for the BIRTH of PATRICK .. (on Ancestry) . . Tipperary circa 1795 +/- 10yrs. . . NO Birth . . . but . . . DEATH notice (see below) 1875 ( doesn't specific Clonmel)
_______________________________________________________________
Next . . . search . . Bridget Fah(e)y on Roots . . . result 3 in total ..2 registered for Thurles.Co.Tipp. ... ( in those years travel was infrequent over that distance)
One hit for Carrick on Suir . . . which is much closer to Clonmel . . . (see below ) ( Birth Date here is 1787 - which would make her 30 on Birth of Thomas ??)
Same result on Ancestry . . . only close hit for Tipperary . . .
______________________________________________________________________________
I had trouble finding . . . the BIRTH of Thomas . . . on Roots or Ancestry . . . Patrick 1823 (Nil) . . . John 1825 (Nil) . . . Mary (1827) Nil
So . . . you already have superior data . . . which Ancestry or Roots . . . cannot confirm . . . .
________________________________________________________________________________________
I did find JOHN FAHY 1813 Clonmel ( see below) . . . but little success for the other siblings . .
_______________________________________________________________________________
Getting back to your ORIGINAL question . . . . ORIGIN of Families . . .
My information does NOT answer that question . . . . all I can add is . . in searching . . . I did see the villages of EMLY and CLOGHEEN popping up frequently . . .
Sorry I couldn't be more help . . . Best I could do . . .
Cheers ....Eamonn.

Hi there - for some reaosn I cannot read the full responses of this thread. Do you know who Thomas O'Donnell married or the names of his kids? I am wondering if he matches the Thomas in my tree, and if so he'd be my direct ancestor. Carrick on Suir and Clogheen are relevent to my O'Donnells too.
