I am looking for information on my ancestors George BARTON (b.1802(?). d. 2 Jan 1888)and his wife Hanna GREGG.(b.1800{?) d.16 Feb 1887). Parents unknown but I think George was son on George BARTON and Hanna was daughter of Robert GREGG.
George and Hanna married at Tubrid Church in Kesh on 15 Jan 1827.
Their daughter Jane Elizabeth 'Bessie' BARTON (b. 4 Jun 1840 in Drumhoney, Fermanagh. d.29 Oct 1919 in Malvern, Victoria) emigrated to Australia as a young women as she had a brother and Aunt Alice GREGG (m. John ARMSTONG) living in Melbourne. Alice ARMSTRONG sponsored her passage to Australia. 'Bessie' married John Thomas COUTIE in Melbourne (14 Nov 1867).
Does anyone know this family history? I am particularly interested in knowing the ancestry of George BARTON and Hanna GREGG.
With thanks and greetings from Australia,
Margaret

Dear Margaret:
Thank you for your query to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome to the site!
You might consider creating a profile for one of the Bartons that you have named above in your post. An ancestor profile will be read by many of our members who may be able to further your research. These profiles are updated weekly and are checked by others. You can create one through the following link:

In the meantime, the parish where Drumhoney is located is in Irvinestown and the parish registers are available online throuth the National Library of Ireland. You can access them below:

You might also find the E-Catalogue helpful for the PRONI offce in Belfast. This is the Public Records Office and they have uploaded a lot of excellent historical and genealogical material.
