Hello,
I'm looking for information on my great great great grandmother, Maria Gilmartin, born in 1838 in Boyle. Her father was Patrick Gilmartin and her mother was Anna Mullevan. Maria married Timothy Neville and they immigrated to America during the famine. They lived in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. This is all the information I have.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find a baptismal record for Maria and also did not find her marriage record (assuming she was married in Roscommon). I did find two baptismal records which possibly could be for brothers. The mother's surname was shown as Mulhern or Mulheeran and I'm wondering if that is enough of a connection to Mullevan.

I think Roger is probably onto something with Mulhern / Mulheeran as far as surname common to Boyle are concerned. Could be that the V in Mullevan was a mis-read R. Ó Maolchiarán has at least 10 alternative spellings on sloinne.ie AND Mulhern is local to Boyle.
Also Gilmartin may have been sometimes recorded as Kilmartin, Guilmartin, and even simply Martin.
I suspect that Pat and Anna could be from the townland of Garrow just north of Boyle.
https://www.townlands.ie/roscommon/boyle/boyle/boyle-rural/garrow/It is the only place in the parish were Martin and Mulhern were neighbors.

Thank you all so much for your replies! I appreciate your time very much! It is so difficult to find ancestors from across the ocean! I came upon Anna's name in a search of Catholic Church records. The original handwriting on the scanned document was not quite clear so I will change her name on my ancestry.com tree. And also, the record I found the first names were spelled in Latin.
Another question I have about this website: I also have Irish ancestors from other counties such as Sligo, Longford, Kerry. Do I post questions to those counties or just on this?

Also, in looking back on my ancestry.com tree, I have records indicating the family moved to Sligo at some point as some of her siblings were born in Sligo. I have had no luck in finding a marriage record for either Maria or Anna. I am sure I have errors on my family tree. If you all wish to have a look it is White Family Tree on ancestry.com with the owner name as Aunt Sessie(me). I am also searching the names Neville, Maguire, Mccoppen, Murray but they are from different counties.

You would need to post new messages for your ancestors in other counties.
