Johanna O’Brien Born In 1857 in Borrisoleigh emigrated to Australia with brother, John and married Charles Youngberry. Her descendants find a letter in which she says she is related to the Gleeson’s in Borrisoleigh. I DNA match strongly both descendants of Johanna O’Brien and descendants of Thomas Quinlan and Mary Glleson of Borrisoleigh and later of Upperchurch. They got married February 14, 1893. . My third grandmother, Catherine Ryan’s maiden name is unknown. However, these clues may prove she was a Gleeson. Catherine Born around 1805 could be an Aunt to Johanna. Thanks for your help. My gedmatch if allowed to post is HB6508285

ReillyRyan:
I went thru the Borrisoleigh parish register for 1857 https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632669#page/71/mode/1up and did not find any O'Brien baptismal records. The register is easy to read and there are not many baptisms each month. At least 40% of the baptisms were for Ryan children (no surprise).
In searching the subscription site Roots Ireland, there are Johanna O'Brien baptismal records in 1851 1853 1856(2) and 1858(2) in other parishes in North Tipperary.
I assume you do not have any info on parents names?

I believe her father was Timothy O’Brien married to Mary, no known surname. I saw a spelling error. I have a strong DNA match with Thomas Quinlan and Mary Gleeson. Thanks.

No luck finding a Johanna O'Brien with parents Tim and Mary.
Any possibility that her name was Winifred at birth? I located a Winifred O'Brien baptized May 17 1857 with parents Timothy O'Brien and Mary Gleeson. The baotism was at the Templemore RC church. Templemore is two parishes east from Borrisoleigh. This Winifred also had a brother Patrick born in 1858 and a sister Margaret in 1860.
Located these records on the subscription site Roots Ireland.

Correction. Martin by the Irish naming pattern is the father’s name and Mary, unknown maiden name the mother.
Attached is a picture of Johanna O’Brien’s house in Borrisoleigh. It may still be there today. Thanks. Where can I attach the picture?

I did not find a Johanna O'Brien baptismal record with parents Martin and Mary.
We have an XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy It would be great if you could add Johanna with a picture of the house.
