John Mullins was born in Ireland in 1847/1851--he was my great, great grandfather. He came to Canada around 1850. He was a cabinet maker in Montreal.

    In order to establish where in Ireland John came from we will need more vital information about him.

    A quick search for the years between 1847 and 1851 gave over 300 results for this name.

    Passenger records , marriage certificates, death certifcates and Canadian census returns could provide this much needed information.

    Not sure if this is your John but it shows that census returns could help in your search , in this case he was married to a Catherine also born in Ireland but in 1857 and it shows the name of the children still living at home
