Looking for more information on my Ryan and O'Brien (Catholic) ancestors from Limerick.  My great-great grandfather, Malachy Ryan, is said to be from Doon, according to info passed down in one part of the Ryan family. His wife, Margaret O'Brien, is said to be from Clonkeen.  They had the following children that I know of: John, Bridget, Michael, Malachi, Mary, Patrick (my great-grandfather) and Terence (all born between circa 1823-1842) in Ireland.  All of the family immigrated to the USA and settled in Massachusetts and Connecticut. I have located the naturalization record of son Michael, which does say that he is from Clonkeen, Limerick. According to Griffith's Valuation for Clonkeen (Barrington) there was a Malachi Ryan who leased from Terence O'Brien. I think these must be my ancestors.  I also found a possible marriage record from 1820 of a Malachi Ryan of Doon who married Mary or Marg.?? Brien of Clonkeen. Not sure of wife's first name as it is hard to read. The places and the timing seem right for my ancestors.  Also found a baptismal record of the son Malachi from Murroe, Boher and Abington parish. I would like to find more info on this family.  There were other Ryans and O'Briens on the Griffith's Valuation for Clonkeen (Barrington).  Which O'Brien was Margaret's father? Are any other vital records available for the family?I would appreciate any information that anyone has.  I would also love to find out if the original home still exists and if there are any other living relatives left in this area.
