My great grandmother Mary Dunphy was in the Abbeyleix workhouse and migrated to Sydney Australia in 1849 as part of the Orphan Girl scheme. Her mother Margargaret was still living but her father Simon Dunphy had died. She worked on a farm in Australia marrying a Carlow man in 1852.Are there any relatives in Abbeyleix? Any information would be appreciated.
