I am looking for information on my Great-great grandparents.
Daniel Shea and Honora Leary.
They lived on Rossmore Island. Belonged to Sneem Parish.
They were married on Feb 06 1860.
I have his birth as 1822 (may not be correct), hers as 1839. But this is all I have on that.
They had 7 children: Patrick D., Cornelius D., Julia, Mary, Joanna, Micheal D. (my great grandfater), John J.
I have all the Sneem baptismal records and civil records for all the children except Cornelius. I do know Cornelius drowned in the Chicago River in the early 1900s.
All the children came to the U.S. except Joanna and Mary (I think).
Any info would be great.
Thanks.

Hi BK1962,
I have found no more than you already have. Earlier records if they exist would be in Church records in the area and accessable only on site with Church permission.
Rossmor Island is in a huge (by local standards) Civil Parish. I'll in clude two pointers that you may find intweresting to research.
Kilcrohan Civil Parish see: http://sites.rootsweb.com/~irlker/kilcrohane.html
and
Map of Rossmore Island, see: https://www.logainm.ie/en/23166?s=Rossmore+Island

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your help.
I know they were in the Sneem parish because that is where I found all the baptismal records.
Those records list the place of residence as Rossmore. So I am assuming it is Rossmore Island.
The civil birth records are from the Kenmore district and also list the place of birth as Rossmore.
Just seems to me that Rossmore Island is pretty far from Sneem. Unless there is another Rossmore.
