Hi,

My name is Molly Roisin Casey. I am 52 years old. My father Steven Aloysius Casey who was 31 when he married my mother on 4th July 1970 in Wallasey Merseyside Uk. He was a Civil engineers Labourer in Merseyside.

As far as I know he came from Mitchelstown in Cork, his father was called William Casey who was a farmer.

I am looking for any family members or an knowledge of my family if possible.

I really have always missed having a family and would love to at least find out something of my heritage if possible.

I really hope that someone sees this who can fill in some pieces of the puzzle.

Thanks for reading.

Molly

  • Hi Molly!

Irish civil birth records are online thru 1923 so your Dad's record would not be online. Marriages are available thru 1948. I searched the free site irishgenealogy.ie for a William Casey marriage from 1920-1948 in the Mitchelstown registration district and did not come up with a record. I assume you don't know his mother's maiden name?

  • Hello Molly,

Would you be able to post a copy of your parents' marriage record?

Is your father living? If not, do you have his death record? Does it indicate anything about his parents or next of kin?

If he is deceased, do you know who he is buried with?  Do you have his obituary/death record? If so, what does it say?

Have you seen his will? Wills sometimes mention people back home in Ireland--or people living elsewhere who came from Ireland.

Did your father have a second family? If so, they might know more about his Irish connection.

These are just a few ideas that might lead to finding your father's family.

    Patricia
