William Lewis Born Ireland apox 1797 wife Ann Hare (maybe O'Hare) she born 1795-1797. William's father maybe named Lewis lewis ?? maybe not. William or his father may have been a doctor. William lewis had 4-5 children born in Ireland befoe 1833. They left for Canada and were in Kindston Quebec by 1833. Wiliam died in Townsend Ontario canada 1848

Children: Martha Jane Lewis born july 1821, Ellen Lewis born 5/22/1822 family says Kilkenny, Susan Lewis 3/11/1825, William Lewis born 3/24/1825-1827, My grgrgrandmother Eliza Jane Lewis born 8/1833 IN Canada, Samuel Lewis born 1834 Canada,  May be a Henry Lewis as the first born child.

Martha Jane married Peter Walsworth in Canada, Ellen Lewis Married Peter Walsworth in Canada, Susan Lewis married Robert Linden in Canada, William Lewis married Jane Ann McKinstrey in canada, Eliza Jane Lewis married Charles JOhnson in canada,  Unsure whom Samuel Lewis married in canada.

After living in Ontario canada for a time they all moved to Graigot Michigan and St John MIchigan. Anne Hare Lewis died in michigan 1871. Im very exciting to connect to my irish heritage. Any help would be appreciated.

    When researching family history in Ireland one of the most important pieces of information you need is a specific location. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

     

    Do you have any documentation relating to the family that mentions anywhere more specific than Kilkenny? Have you tried looking into their emigration? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you could find their immigration records they may offer you more information-and perhaps even an exact place of origin. For immigration records in Canda check the National Library and Archives.     You could also try searching for Lewis or O' Hare in the Tithe Applotment Books. These were land records were compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. Although they do not offer any genealogical information they can sometimes be used to tie a person to a specific place. You can search them here:
