My most up to date research has McFaddens emigrating from Armagh around 1830 - 1840. The person I'm associated with is James McFadden (1795 - 1852) who married Jane Curry (1800 - 1876). They both were born in Ireland and died in Canada. My understanding is that they settled near Ottawa or Western part of Quebec.
My paternal Grandmother was Barbara Jane McCorkle (1877 - 1963) who originated from the Ottawa Valley (Manotick).
All of the McFaddens I am related most immediately related to live in Kent County in Southwestern Ontario (near the US/Canada border).
Would like any inofrmation about Parish/Townland etc.
Many thanks.

Carol,
Statutory birth, death and marriage registration (in some jurisdictions called Vital Records) only started in Ireland in 1864, save for non RC marriages which were recorded from 1845 onwards. So you probably won’t find statutory birth, death or marriage certificates in Ireland for this family. For earlier years you usually need to rely on church records, where they exist. You obviously need to know the precise denomination in order to search the correct records. Not all churches have records for that period and not all are on-line. RC records are mostly on-line on the nli site:
https://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
For other denominations, the churches usually hold the originals but there are also copies in PRONI, the public record office, in Belfast. A personal visit is required to access them. Access to the records there is free. This link explains what records exist, parish by parish:
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/publications/proni-guide-church-records
If you are unable to go yourself, you could employ a researcher. Researchers in the PRONI area: http://sgni.net
Do you know what denomination your McFadden and Curry ancestors were? I had a look at the 1901 census for Co. Armagh. There were only 18 McFaddens. There was 1 RC family and the rest were Church of Ireland (Anglican). There were 99 Currys. They were a mix of RC, Presbyterian & Church of Ireland. So no clarity there.
If you know the likely denomination(s) I may be able to direct you where to search based on the censuses and Griffiths Valuation.

My gg grandfather Charles R. McFadden born in New Orleans around 1850. He might have been the son of Thomas McFadden and Ann O'Connor. Both came from somewhere in Ireland. Looks like they came here around early 1840s. Charles and his brother John T. McFadden were latter adoped by the Allen family possibly through the church.
