Looking for my great great grandfathers family Francis Ward

Had a look at 1901 Irish census, does not appear to be any John Ward with birth listed as USA. Do you have a document to connect family to Glenamaddy?

Gerard unfortunately no I am just grasping at straws trying to find a Francis or Frank Ward born in Ireland possibly 1846 or sooner. I was told there were two sons he had but I have only truly found one born in Illinois in 1873 so it is possible some of the family that was still alive didn't know what they were talking about. I don't  even know Francis's parents. Susan Hill

Thanks for updating. Stories handed down are very important in Family Research. Sometimes American records hold more information than Irish records. Up to 1900 approx only the Names of the Fathers of Bride and Groom were listed on the Marriage Records.

What is earliest census record that you can make a direct connection with ?

Attached details of a Birth record and corrosponding Census record Illinois 1880. Is this your family. Frank not listed but Anna listed as Married.

Gerard, thank you for the attached file unfortunately it is not him he didn't have a daughter he had a son James Albert in 1873 which was my great grandfather. I feel that I am at a dead end as we truly don't know where in Ireland he was born or his parents. Any other suggestions on how I could find out more. I have searched a lot of wards and no luck I thought I had found him in Pennsylvania but I'm not sure it was at a workhouse any suggestions on how to find out if he is the one. Thank you again and if you come up with anything please let me know. I would really love to find some sort of relatives still in Ireland if possible or somewhere else. Susan Hill
