Hi Ilean,
Thanks for your message.
Do you have any other information on Daniel, Abbie and Bridget? Do you have any documentation that mentions a specific placename in Leinster? Your search for information will be much easier if you can narrow down a place of origin to a townlan/parish/village or town. As civil registration did not begin in Ireland until 1864, most records before this period are Church records. Most of these are held locally, so you can see why it is important to find out what parish they came from.
I am assuming that someone from this line emigrated to the US? If so, do you know much about their emigration? Generally more information was given at their port of arrival rather than that of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at it may be a place to find more information and possibly even an exact place of origin. A good place to start your search on immigration information in the US is the National Archives. You can find this here:
http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
Do you have any important dates relating to anyone in the family which may help establish a timeframe? Dates such as birthdates, marriage, death, emigration will all help.
Some good websites which may help you with your research are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
Family Search: https://familysearch.org/
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Kind regards,
