I have been unable to find a townland for my third ggf. He was born in County Meath 1n 1777. He married Catherine Donnelly (b1780) about 1807 in Ireland. Patrick and Catherine had six children: Edward (1808); Margaret (1810); Nick (1817); Mathhew Arthur (1822); Catherine (1822); and Patrick (1828). All children were born in Ireland and the dates are approximate. I do not know if Athboy is a connection. The family arrived together in 1840 aboard the ship Margaret.
I am aware that LYNCH is a common name in Ireland. If I could find the townland, I'd come in a heartbeat. In fact, before Covid, I had a road trip planned to visit Meath (Lynch), Roscommon (Garrick), and Sligo (Rooney). I also had a conference trip planned during that time to Belfast. My Fields and Baxter families are from that area. (I did get a total refund on the conference, Airbnb, and my plane ticket!)
ANY help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Janet Lynch Magnuson

Janet:
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and was unable to find the marriage record or the baptismal records for the children. Co. Meath has some RC parishes where records start after 1828 so it is possible that the Lynch family belonged to one of those parishes. By the way, Athboy records start in 1794 so if the Lynch family was from that parish records should have shown up.
Have you looked into NA testing? Possibly you will have matches to 3rd or 4th cousins who have more info on your Lynch family.

Thank you, Roger for your research on the Lynch family. I'll keep looking and maybe the next step is Athboy.
By the way, I see you are from Roscommon. My great, great, grandparents, Matthew Garrick (b Abt 1801) and Bridget Curley (b Abt 1801) were born in Roscommon. They were married in Kilteevan, Roscommon. Matthew died somewhere in Roscommon and Bridget died in Ballinasloe.
Thanks again.
