I am searching for my great grandfather, John Joseph Ronnan. Family lore says that the name was O'Roynan. John dropped the "O" and replaced the "y" with an "n." He is said to have been from County Cork. John was born about 1847 and died in 1911. He married Bridget Webb (maiden name) McNamara (last name of first husband, John) in Norristown PA . She was also Irish but lived in Wales for some time as her first two children were born there. John became a citizen of the US in October of 1868. I believe he came to the US, alone, when he was 11 on the ship the "Underwriter" leaving out of Liverpool, England.

Some thoughts: given that the first record has Poor House as his address I wonder if that would be the most likely lad to be travelling on his own aged 11?
I assume you have seen the US marriage record and it doesn't have any parents' names/
