  • G'day Keith,

I searched baptisms/births on rootsireland.ie for William Gilroy born 1801 and got a match - born 1802 in Waterford; the parish was Trinity Without Roman Catholic.

On ancestry there are several public member trees (Potter Cole Aasman e.g.) which have Jane Walker's birthdate as 26 June 1802. None gives a source however.

The only record for her birth on rootsireland was a baptism in Meath in 1804.

This suggests to me they may have married in Canada as they didn't grow up near each other - if this is the right Jane of course.

ancestry has their marriage - in Canada Ontario Home District 26 June 1832.

The public member trees also differ from you in the number of children - there are the same names but only 11 of them. Your first 5 are missing and so is Joseph 1843. They were all born in Canada.

You may wish to check ancestry if you have access - your local library or family history centre may have it.

If you purchase the rootsireland records you will get the parents' names and the parish for Jane.
